Host a Full Stack Development Intern

Program Overview

Hack the Gap and Full Stack Saint Paul are launching a 12-week paid internship program starting in Fall 2024. We are seeking committed employers to host graduates of full stack development bootcamp programs and offer hands-on experience in full-stack development projects.

Administration and Support

Hack the Gap will offer thorough administrative support during the internship program, including:

  • Placement Partner: Matching interns with ideal employers

  • Candidate Selection: Rigorous process to ensure the best fit for each role

  • Managerial Support: Continuous assistance to guarantee intern success

  • Professional Development: Organized sessions for skill enhancement and career growth

Interns Can Support You With

  • Fixing bugs and developing new features

  • Creating and maintaining databases and servers to ensure responsive requests

  • Integrating user-facing elements with server-side logic and functionality

  • Improving the usability and design of web applications

  • Conducting software testing to ensure application reliability and performance

Employer Partnership

The City of Saint Paul will contribute $4,000 towards the internship and employers are asked to contribute $3,000 per intern to support their placement and development within the program. This contribution ensures the interns receive the necessary resources and opportunities to thrive during their 12-week experience.

Diversifying Tech Talent Through Internship Opportunities

Through this internship program, we’re seeking organizations with the capacity and need for early career software engineers commit to the following:

  • Identify an entry level IT role that would take on bootcamp graduates for 3 month internship opportunity.

  • Commit to taking on 1, ideally 2 graduates from this talent pathway

  • Match $3,000 towards a stipend for each intern
