What We’re Up To

This year, we’ve been working hard to provide new tech trainings opportunities, connect candidates with employers, and create spaces to connect. Our new Learn and Earn program launched this Fall, Hack the Gap team is hiring, and we have more new fun things coming soon!

Learn and Earn

The Learn and Earn program is a paid learning program for those looking to gain skills as UX/UI designers. This training opportunity will be focused on providing young adults with the required skills, certifications and credentials to enter or continue on a pathway into tech.

This opportunity is for young adults, ages 18-30 to develop new and existing technical skills through real projects and get access to career development opportunities.

Our current programs starting this January include the following:

  • User Experience Design

  • Project Management Focused on Building Technology

  • Data Analyst

*This program is in partnership with Ramsey County and St. Paul and is funded by the American Rescue Plan Act.

Senior White House Advisor Tom Perez Visits with Learn and Earn Participants

Hack the Gap was joined by Bridgemakers and Youth Lens 360’s E3L Cohort to share more about the Learn and Earn program with Senior White House Advisor Tom Perez. Hack the Gap participants Xai Yang and Francess Parson shared their experiences in the program and how they envision their tech careers.

The event took place at the Osborn370 building in downtown St Paul and included representatives from the City of St Paul and Ramsey County. It highlighted the importance of making tech accessible through cross-sector collaborations and partnerships.
